The decision to change the way you think and eat is hard enough. We wanted to make it easier to tackle the kitchen and pave the way to success!
On December 7, 2022 I decided to cut sugar and flour out of my daily diet. After 52 years of my weight fluctuating up and down, pain in my joints, closets full of clothes waiting for me to lose a little weight, and being too tired to enjoy life, I finally said….enough.
I didn’t know what enough meant exactly, but I knew it was not within my power to discover it. I needed someone else to help me and guide me in what needed to be done. The heavy lifting would be on me, but someone needed to tell me what needed to be done and help me learn how to do it.
I found that place in COR, a retreat for people struggling with eating problems. This website is my way of “giving back” to the COR community so that they can learn from my experience how to tackle healthy eating. After hearing people in meetings saying they were “getting sick of eating bland chicken breasts and veggies” I knew I could help.
The day I left core I knew that cooking was going to be my keys to the castle. I also knew that all the years of learning culinary skills were now coming to a culmination. I knew there was a a way to use them for good versus using it to add to the damage.
So I’m tellin’ ya! Healthy eating does not have to suck. The kitchen is not the enemy. If you are going to do this, you need to control the kitchen. Get in there. Fail. Burn stuff. Who gives a shit?
You will figure it out with practice and learn to enjoy treating your body like a friend you are having over for a special meal. The meal will be special because it will put you both (body and mind) one step closer to feeling great again.
I promise, your body will thank you.
